LIFE, LIBERTY & HAPPINESS

A Limited Edition Collaboration with author Peter Moore

"Moore's book brings out the hidden roots of the Declaration of Independence"

  • In his new book 'Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness', bestselling historian Peter Moore traces how Enlightenment ideas were exported from Britain and put into practice in America - where they became the most successful export of all time, the American Dream.

  • "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness is that rarest of things: an ambitious history of ideas that is also deeply intimate and humane. Peter Moore has an eye for the kind of sparking detail that drags you into the past by the shirt collar. A work of astonishing insight, pathos, and literary elegance."

  • About the Author

Peter Moore is a writer, journalist and lecturer. He teaches creative writing at the University of Oxford. His debut, Damn His Blood, reconstructed a rural murder in 1806. His second, The Weather Experiment, a New York Times 'Notable Book of the Year', traced early efforts to forecast the weather. Whilst, Endeavour, became a multiple book of the year and a Sunday Times bestseller. He presents a history podcast called Travels Through Time.

  • About the Collection

Chosen by Peter to reflect the generation that preceded the Declaration in 1776, each museum-grade fine art print takes us back to a time full of intent, confidence, and ideas. Our ethos at Unseen was clear: every print had to undergo a meticulous remastering and cleaning, to digitally present itself as if once again taken fresh from the press.

  • About our Prints

From start to finish, each Unseen print is made in England with exceptional care and attention. We hand-selected a traditional heavyweight mould-made copperplate printing paper, meeting the most exacting requirements in terms of age resistance. To mark its provenance, we emboss each one in the final stage of the hand-finishing process, and ship with an accompanying Certificate of Authenticity.
